About Sol Rey
Sol B. Rey is an NGS Research Scientist at Biotia, where she plans and executes R&D sequencing projects and manages laboratory infrastructure for the company's clinical diagnostic assays. She leads the validation experiments of NGS-based addendums, including fungal and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) targets, assessing specificity, accuracy, limit of detection, and reproducibility.
Her work involves applying molecular biology techniques such as cloning and PCR to construct standard curves that correlate qPCR values with CFU/mL, supporting clinically relevant data interpretation for infectious disease diagnostics. She holds a BS in Toxicology with a minor in Chemistry from St. John's University and is based in New York.
Education
- BS in Toxicology and Chemistry, St. John's University, 2016
