About Dr. Lorenzo Uccellini
Dr. Lorenzo Uccellini is the Director of Business Development at Biotia, leading partnerships and commercial strategy for the company's metagenomic infectious disease diagnostics. He works across the BIOTIA-DX, BIOTIA-ID, and GeoSeeq product lines, focusing on partner development, market expansion, and translating Biotia's clinical-grade NGS capabilities into commercial impact.
Before Biotia, Dr. Uccellini held leadership roles at Enzo Life Sciences and Clinical Lab in molecular diagnostics, R&D, and laboratory-developed test planning. Earlier in his career, he conducted scientific research at Columbia University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, K-RITH in Durban, South Africa, and the National Institutes of Health.
He holds a PhD in Infectious and Tropical Diseases from the University of Milan and the NIH, and trained in molecular biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, and biomedical engineering at the University of Milan Bicocca and the Politecnico di Milano.
