About Dr. Ana Gradissimo
Dr. Ana Gradissimo is the R&D Lab Manager at Biotia, where she oversees laboratory day-to-day operations and infrastructure, inventory and biobanking management. She contributes to NGS assay development, data analysis, and validation for the company's clinical diagnostics.
Prior to joining Biotia, Dr. Gradissimo served as Core Facility Manager at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she managed a high-complexity molecular laboratory supporting microbiome research and biobanking. She led population-scale sequencing programs supporting multiple active clinical trials, designed and deployed a SQL-based biobank management system with data standardization, and mentored a team of scientists and software engineers.
Dr. Gradissimo's post-doctoral work was developed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she designed and validated targeted NGS hybrid capture protocols for Illumina and PacBio platforms, built bioinformatic pipelines for viral-host genomic analysis, and executed NGS-based CpG methylation studies in various cohorts. Ana earned her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Lisbon and is based in New York. She has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, and served as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals.
